Official position of the FALINTIL-FDTL on the Report by the UN Independent Special Commission of Inquiry for Timor-Leste
The conflict in our country is a political conflict which conceals two major objectives:
1. The fall of the Government and the dissolution of the Parliament and, the establishment of a government of national unity.
2. Recently, acts of systematic violence occurred sporadically throughout the country, but with a greater incidence in Dili, with the objective of destabilising the government and making it unviable.
3. The Independent Commission of Inquiry has published its report analysing the facts and circumstances which were at the basis of this conflict, but failed to put it in the political context.
4. As a contribution to a speedy return to peace in our country, the Armed Forces declare:
A. We thank the ICI for concluding their report in a timely fashion and for confirming there was no massacre at Rai Kotu.
B. To complement the Commission's mission, we propose the creation of a Parliamentary Investigation Commission, with the mission to determine the objectives, the strategies and, the intellectual and moral authors who were behind the crisis so to hold them accountable.
C. We reaffirm our position in cooperating with the justice system of Timor-Leste.
D. We present our deepest condolences to the families of every East Timorese who perished during this conflict, namely our own comrades within the Armed Forces, the National Police and the children of our dearest People.
E. We express our apologies to every East Timorese for the offences and damages caused, directly or indirectly, by us in the process of this crisis.
F. We are grateful for the confidence deposited in the Armed Forces by our People, and specially, by our political leaders, regarding the way we carried out our role during the crisis.
G. We appeal for the cooperation of all East Timorese so that we can put an end to the crisis which engulfed our country, bringing us much harm and pain and, we are resolute in the unity of our People to guarantee our supreme interests as a People and as a Nation.

Coitado da minha FRETILIN!
Preocupo-me com o falso sucesso dos golpistas, por um lado, e tambem com a imagem denegrida dos dois Lideres da Fretilin - Rogerio Lobato e Mari Alkatiri, por outro lado.
A minha FRETILIN vai sofrer com tudo isto nas proximas eleicoes, quando apresentar esses dois Lideres como figuras principais a frente nas campanhas da FRETILIN.
Essas duas figuras ja foram destruidas pelos golpistas e no seio do Povo vive-se a nocao de que RL e Mari Alkatiri sao os causadores da sua desgraca, do seu sofrimento e de toda esta crise.
O dilema que a minha FRETILIN esta a encarar ee de se continuar a ter os dois (RL e Mari Alkatiri) a frente do Partido e continuar com a guerra ou ganhar o eleitorado para continuar a governar o Paiis com uma nova figura isenta do conflito Xanana Vs Alkatiri???
Penso que LuOlo, na qualidade de Presidente do Partido, deve convidar aa reflexao de todos os militantes sobre esse grande dilema que ninguem quer se atrever a lancar para o debate no seio do Partido - da minha FRETILIN.
Primeiro, por alegadas "razões técnicas" a TV de Timor-Leste ficou off e não passou em directo a Conferência de Imprensa do Brigadeiro-General das F-FDTL. Vinte e quatro horas depois o Timor-Online, que denunciou tão estranha avaria, bloqueou. Quem é que está a amordaçar a liberdade de expressão em Timor-Leste?
